Beware of Pride and Selfish Ambition

What caused Satan’s initial downfall in heaven was his pride in seeking to take God’s place and His Throne with selfish ambition and rebellion.

What caused Satan’s initial downfall in heaven was his pride in seeking to take God’s place and His Throne with selfish ambition and rebellion.

How could a creature created by God think to elevate himself as The Creator God, who even created Lucifer?

I am reminded of how David’s son Absalom, sought to take his fathers throne and worked on the people behind the scenes and tried to win them over in his coup d’état in attempting to take the throne of his Father King David.

Absalom even took David’s concubines on the rooftop had sex with them for all to see.  (2 Samuel 16:22)

Patterns are similar in many organizations, including Churches.

Lucifer and his fallen cohorts seek out any positions of authority, especially in Churches, religions, and world wide governments.

He hates God and hates those who love The LORD and his motive is to kill, steal, and destroy.

God’s people, and especially those who carry out God’s Plans with authority, are targets, as the demons want to twist the authority of world wide governments to frustrate the people of God and to destroy them internationally, nationally, and  as well within our local regional and Christian organizations.

Wounded believers become soured and ruined by what they see as the Church’s deception and selfish ambitions, causing them to believe the Church is no better than the world.

Our battle is not with flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, and rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness in high places.

Our Prayer Focus needs to be upon the local ground we gained, but more, we must begin to see the plot, plans, and schemes unfolding internationally as well, because our local part is very important, for we are part of God’s Plan.

“Finally, be strong in The LORD and in His mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God, so that you can make your stand against the devil’s schemes.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world’s darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand.  Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness arrayed, and with your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. To this end, stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints.”    Ephesians 6:10-18 BSB

As we study God’s Word, we see Lucifer had pride, and caused rebellion that was so deceptive he had won over 1/3 of the angels in heaven that were also cast to the earth with him.

These ambitions were not godly in heaven nor are godly on earth.

Just as Jesus had to confront the disciples who were wanting to sit at The LORD’s right hand, selfish ambition cannot be part of who you become.

Service to God is not ambition, and having a Church is not like running a business.  It’s about having God’s kind of Love and by laying down our lives as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable which is our reasonable service. Service and serving is our high task.

“… who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.”   Romans 1:25 NKJV.

There’s a Price — How Hungry Are You?

Our Hunger for God and true fulfillment happens because we are striving towards the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus.

Our Hunger for God and true fulfillment happens because we are striving towards the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus — and in mastery of the divine call, we may have to leave everything behind…

There’s a Choice and a Price for the divine call and how much we want.

Becoming super sensitive to The Holy Ghost is a journey in our love relationship with our redeemer.

Seeking The LORD with our whole heart is to follow hard after Him — He must be the motivation of our heart.

We are transitioning and clicking into placement by faith. Our desire is to be everything God wants as we yield to Him more and more daily.

It’s not about an ankle deep faith that the river of life continues flowing, but we need to hear the call “deep calls unto deep” to swim and go deeper with The LORD.

All of us face unique challenges when we wake up each day and walk out that door.  The concerns and cares of life that keep us in the world but not of the world is really a harvest field.

Each day we must pray that The LORD releases His power in us so that we recognize the fields are white ready for harvest!

Each of you has a purpose and God has the plan!  Be aware that your time is valuable, and the enemy will continue to try to keep us sidetracked and distracted concerning our purpose and destiny.

How is our own heart?  Are we hungry for God?  There’s a price if we want God’s purpose and His plan.  For some it’s 30, some it’s 60 and 100-fold.

“Therefore, hear the parable of the sewer: When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”   Matthew 13:18-23 NKJV.

In seeking The LORD daily through prayer, meditation, praying in The Holy Ghost and study of the Bible ensures us that we have done all things in reaching out to God and he rewards those who diligently seek Him.

God knows us better than we know ourselves and we must have the right motives of the heart. The LORD will never go against his word. His word is forever settled in heaven.

When we repent, pray, study God ‘s word, push away some meals and spend time fasting we will find him if we seek him with our whole heart.

There are motives that The LORD has been showing me that we’ve got to watch out for daily.

One of them is pride, and close behind is haughtiness and arrogance.  God wants us to die daily to our flesh and to walk in holiness.

What took Satan down in the initial sin was pride in seeking a place with ambition to sit as God.

Just like the ambitions the disciples had wanting to sit at The LORD’s right hand.  Selfish ambition cannot be part of who you become.

Service to God is not Ambition and having a church is not like running a business.  It’s about love and laying down our lives as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable which is our reasonable service. Service and serving is our task.

There are too many people out there that say they are of God and the fruit is Rotten and we’re supposed to judge by the fruit of the spirit, and by the word of God.

Deception is a daily weapon the enemy tries to throw into a lot of places.  We must remain vigilant for our adversary; the devil goes about as a roaring lion seeking whom he can devour.

Resist him steadfast in the faith!  We are overcomers!

Yesterday as I sought The LORD, I saw an old-fashioned blacksmith, and a very hot fire pit and various pieces of metal and a hammer.

The Holy Ghost spoke to me and said is not My word as a fire and as a hammer that breaks rocks in pieces?

I saw this blacksmith taking the chosen piece of twisted metal. It was not formed yet, but the blacksmith was taking it with heated tools and putting it in the fire until it was red hot then he would pull it out and hammer it.

Once he hammered it to the degree he could, he would stick it in the water to try to see if it was lining up according to his measure.

I had to die daily… I had to die to what I was.

Yes, we must Yield our bodies, our souls and spirit.

God is wanting to send true revival, but much of the church in America isn’t ready.

God sends revival to wake up the church and to open sleepy eyes to what deception the enemy is trying to get us into so we can reject it.

In this hour God is setting things in divine order for us, and we’ve got to be about the father’s business to win souls and to spur on the people into discipleship and remain close and obedient to The LORD.

God is all about saving and winning people.

It’s not about who’s who and if we’re still looking for some sort of recognition, or to be famous and well known on the platforms of man we must die to the flesh.

God knows our heart.  We must ask God where he wants to place us and not assume Hollywood in the church on YouTube.

There’s so many people that are deceived and demons are more faithful to those types of churches! Satan fears a Holy Ghost filled people of prayer, fasting, and obedience to God; a people that seek God with their whole heart!

Of all the things the enemy fears, he fears the believer who knows who they are and knows what they have and knows how to use it in Jesus’ name!

The LORD has a message, of sobering indifference, He is showing us the condition of much of the church for when there is no divine revelation, people cast off moral and all restraints.

Who will yield to the process of the blacksmith hammering and the furnace of affliction the process he is taking us through.

He is making us as a double edge sword of offense and defense!  When it is applied to a believer, it’s as a scalpel that brings surgery, healing, and wholeness to people.

I want you to see how the process was.  The blacksmith took the weapon of warfare and continued to stick it in the fire, then to hammer it into the shape and then the process of sticking it in the water to cool it, to handle it, to see if the tool was being formed correctly.

Once it was completely formed as The LORD said we are his weapon of warfare.

He has made us to be more than conquerors in Christ.

The LORD wants us to live, eat, drink, sleep, work, fight and do everything as unto The LORD!

The LORD wants us to walk closely with him for his sheep hear his voice and the voice of a stranger they will not follow.

There is a spirit that I have noticed over the course of learning in my life and in the church that has been prevalent.

A Jezebel spirit operates by witchcraft and what follows is manipulation and control.  That’s just some of the spirits that work through that Jezebel spirit. Jezebel hates true prophetic gift for she or he sits up to establish their own agenda, stronghold, and platform.

Her threats put fear into Elijah right after God proved who heard God and he ran away. Jezebel didn’t know it, but God has had enough of her, and the control of the platform and the people.

Her hour was nearly spent and suddenly God spoke and she was taken out.

We have to be aware and listen and see everything that God wants.  We are his battle axe and his weapon of warfare and when we see what God wants to happen, we must obey. God wants us to do greater things in this hour for greater works shall you do when Jesus went to the Father.

When The Holy Ghost came on the day of Pentecost it opened the door for the Baptism of Fire that John the Baptist spoke of.

“But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” Matthew 3:7-12 NKJV,

We must put to death the deeds of the flesh, sin, and iniquity, for when we learn to die daily only HE can live!

He must increase and we must decrease. I’m not saying I’m perfect, but I am doing my best to keep myself from being distracted from the cares of this life.

As his battleax and his weapon of warfare we’ve been commissioned and there’s spiritual warfare going on.

There’s a lot of people that say we don’t need to fight anymore that Jesus did it all, but they are sadly mistaken.

There are principalities and powers, rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness in the heavenly realms that we deal with these things daily.

Satan will ignore you and never look your way if he’s got a hold of you and you’re doing what he wants.

But when you are trying to walk as closely as you can to The LORD all hell will try to stop you.

Don’t let it happen.  Shake it off.  Tell it all to go in The Name of Jesus Christ.

Sobering Indifference

As believers in Christ Jesus, we are to represent Him as an Ambassador representing His Kingdom, and The Word as the only Book that gives Hope and Life to this wicked generation.

As believers in Christ Jesus, we are to represent Him as an Ambassador representing His Kingdom, and The Word as the only Book that gives Hope and Life to this wicked generation.

There are various sorts of people whom we come across in our lives, who can drag us through all sorts of sinful behaviors that keep us bound to those sins, and to the people propagating them!  And then pass them along to our offspring — to the next generations….

Many people only scratch the surface in their spiritual lives, and are satisfied with that — but living with one foot in the world and one foot out, cannot exist!

Why?  Because there are no gray areas.  We must take our condition as a Church and Nation seriously.

“And to the angel of the Church of the Laodiceans write, these things say the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye-salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore, be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”   Revelations 3:14-22 NKJV.

We should be alarmed, and it should show us that we ourselves are as slack as the Laodicean Church was.

Of all the Churches in The Book of Revelation, Jesus confronted the Laodicean Church as it was of special interest.

The Church of Laodicea seemingly had the goal to be able to say, “We did it ourselves and did it our way — and have no need of anything!”

As such, the city showed the inability to distinguish between material and spiritual prosperity.

A Church prospering materially and outwardly, can easily inflate their heads and fall into self-deception, that their outward prosperity is the measure of spiritual prosperity!

Thus it was they were confused with the City of God — and the City of man.

The Laodicean Church was the most deceived, as that place and people outwardly seemed good — when it was not the case.

And how many Churches today have fallen guilty to the same?

They were considered “good, godly people” — yet Jesus’ scathing words were a wake up call to Laodicea and the countless other Churches in history who followed their own paths.

Today, many Churches are considered to have “good, godly people”, but can we possibly hear the echoes in our very spirits today — and does it bring alarm or apathy?

The link between spiritual complacency and material blessing comes up time and time again.

This isn’t a new idea.  Jesus warned that material comfort would make it challenging to enter the Kingdom of God.

John Wesley, the English clergyman who founded the Methodists, made an interesting observation:

“I fear, wherever riches of increase, the essence of religion is decreased in the same proportion… as riches increase, so will pride, anger, and love of the world and all its branches.” — John Wesley

Laodicea — one of the wealthiest cities of that regiom during Roman times, was widely known for its banks, a medical school with a famous eye salve, and a textile industry famous for glossy black wool that was used for making tunics and cloaks.

The Church appears to have been as wealthy as the town and there’s no mention of persecution, or trouble with the Jewish population, or any conflict with heresy.

The city worshiped a moon God named Men, a lord of the underworld and the people counted on him for healing, safety, and prosperity.

Called ‘Lord of Two Horns’ by the Romans, he was often depicted riding a horse and carrying a scepter, crescent moon rising behind him like two horns, with a slain beast at his feet.

In A.D. 60, an earthquake leveled Laodicea (along with a lot of other places).  Laodicea refused to accept Roman financial assistance because they had enough money to go it on their own.  They were pretty proud of being rich enough to take care of themselves.

However, the city’s major weakness was lack of a decent water supply.  It was not hot, like the water from the hot springs of nearby Hierapolis; but it was not “cold” like the water at nearby Colossae.

Aqueducts brought water from these locations to Laodicea, and it was lukewarm and somewhat dirty by the time it arrived.  The pipes that have survived are coated with calcification and minerals, some to the point of blocking the water flow almost entirely.  (©Cambridge Bible for Schools and Colleges)

Jesus is trying to get us to see that the most dangerous trait to have as a Church — is  indifference  (being lukewarm).

The Laodiceans weren’t going through life hostile to Jesus — they just weren’t thinking about Jesus!

Jesus would spit out lukewarm water — and He promises to spit out such Christians.  They disgust him!

It’s a sobering image.  When you don’t think about Jesus, you don’t stay neutral.

The more comfortable we are in the world — the more it’s the world that shapes us.

After His blistering take down, in which nothing good is said about the Laodicean Church — Jesus says: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock.”  (Revelation 3:20)

In every other case, The LORD has noted both the good and the evil in The Church, and generally the good first.

However, here in Laodicea, He does nothing but find fault.  But He adds in effect, “Do not suppose from this that I do not love you!”    (©Cambridge Bible for Schools and Colleges)

What Needs Do You Meet?

Have you noticed lately after your prayer sessions with The LORD — that things have changed?

Have you noticed lately after your prayer sessions with The LORD — that things have changed?

Have you gone about your daily tasks, and various people react strangely to you for simply no good reason?

You don’t realize that there are more revealed in the Marketplace than you could ever have fathomed.

As we stir up our sensitivity and the gifts of God while in prayer and when we know others and each lays on hands to stir up the gifts and to combine strategies as each person is a part of the puzzle of clearer revelation.

When we Pray alone it is powerful but when we connect to the other place and the piece fits, those actions are so that we have a greater awareness of The LORD’s purpose for ourselves and others!

There is power in coming together like heart, mind, and Spirit!

We carry the precious cargo of The Holy Ghost, and people can suddenly react to you for no good reason, and it can appear as something good, but is it?

Devils are clever and have been around a long time studying human behavior.  The enemy can use the poorest of the poorest needs to distract you from your purpose and to bring confusion, division, and frustrations to lure you and fish you out of The LORD’s Purpose for you by stealing your time.

It is best if you have a Prayer Partner to ask The LORD what He wants you to do.

Jesus said the poor will always be with us.  The Holy Ghost knows the person and can see within the motives of their heart and flesh.  Just because there is a need doesn’t mean He wants you to fulfill it.

Because of the Word and the anointing in your life, your presence can provoke a reaction to action, and they can manifest evil spirits!

How would you like to know that when you meet the needs of the people that it causes you to miss God and get caught up in a so-called “ministry” when actually it is a demonic distraction plan to keep you off base?

“And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, these men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.”   Acts 16:16-18 KJV.

“Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of The LORD Jesus, saying, we adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of The LORD Jesus was magnified.”   Acts 19:13-17 KJV.

Remember beloved, that The LORD wants us equipped and fine-tuned for the tasks at hand.

What is needed is a heavy dose of the Holy Ghost as we seek The LORD and Pray.

Think it not strange when people manifest strange things, and they want YOUR attention!

Remember their goal is to steal your time and to throw your purpose into distractions and frustrations to stop you in your path.

They do not fully understand their role and strongholds, but God does, and He will reveal it when you pray.

The devils fear a person who is anointed and can see them!

People always have needs, but is it God’s Will for you to meet the need?

Be not hasty and miss the way!  The poor you will always have with you.

We cannot possibly meet every need that comes our way, but when we pray and rightly discern, we are to do as The LORD leads and He supplies.

Amen?  Amen!
