The Case of the Mentor and Protege

There are so many levels in growth in Christian’s lives. In our ignorance and immaturity we do all sorts of things because we want our vision to live NOW!

There are so many levels in growth in Christian’s lives.

There will be those who feel the call of God on their lives and attempt to make that happen before they are prepared by God.  They have zeal, but don’t have the knowledge necessary to fulfill God’s will.

In our ignorance and immaturity we do all sorts of things because we want our vision to live NOW!

“…..Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil,”   1 Timothy 3:6-7 KJV.

Discipleship and leadership is a learned, walked out process of testings and trainings through times of preparation.  Only God knows where we are in his purpose and when and if we are ready.

There are those who assume a place of leadership or title that only God can give.  We can desire and try to make our vision live before God.

However, many of us know, we end up raising a lot of Ishmaels, due to our impatience and lack of faith.  These Ishmaels end up persecuting the ministry of promise.

We want our Ishmaels to live before God!  Why do we get jealous of others when we see others ministry flourish?

God gave us the only promise that comes to the child of promise; our purpose.  There are a lot of things in our lives that were created by the flesh, and we hoped they would live!

However, we must die to our self will and give up our Ishmaels.  We hold on to our hopes that God will make Ishmael live! Sadly it won’t work that way.

Many tears have spilt over the loss of what we held dear in hopes God would bless it.  We must leave our Ishmaels and move on to the promise of God.

You cannot yoke an ox and ass together; the ox will strain to pull forward, and the ass will resist and sit; you will go nowhere.  Be not unequally yoked in relationships and be yoked to Christ, for his yoke is easy his burden is light.

There are many tears spent over our relational Ishmaels; they just wouldn’t work.  There are relationships of all kinds.

When we are sold out to God, we must listen to God for our friendships too.  When God moves us on, we listen to Him and no turning back.

When one walks in leadership, these are not able to have regular (hangout) type relationships with people.  Often leaders will have other leaders in different places where they can have fellowship and counsel for their specific needs.

For the leadership to be successful with the flock, the leader must not be too familiar with you.  The leader prays for you and is used as the LORD leads them, as one who must give account to God on your behalf.

Familiarity breeds contempt.  Esteem your leaders and thank them for their sacrifices on your behalf and pray for them.

When a person comes to me who desires my leadership or they want a mentor, I explain very plainly how things will be.  I make it very clear right away and I don’t mince words.

I have learned to not put things off, but to deal with it right away.  If I don’t address this, it makes it very hard.

I have learned by experience to be point blank honest.  This is best for both, and I have learned it’s best to share the expectations.

If these want a mentor and it’s God’s will for them, they won’t stop, leave, no matter what.  This person must know what this choice entails.

Elijah, a prophet of God, when he came by and saw the man Elisha plowing with yokes of oxen, he remembered what God told him about anointing Elisha as groom to himself.

Even after hearing about Elisha, Elijah tested the hook and sinker.  He threw his mantle over him, and Elisha left the oxen and ran after Elijah.

Elisha wanted to say goodbye and kiss his parents and then he would follow him.  Elijah made sure Elisha had every opportunity to choose.

Elijah’s sarcastic remark, “Go back, for what have I done to you?”  Elisha was prepared for such a time and he never flinched.

Even with the hint of Elijah’s sarcastic question to try and shake his faith to doubt, it never moved him.  He gave it all up to the service of the LORD.

Elisha’s epiphany met him face to face that day.  This Elisha, a person chosen by God being groomed for the prophetic ministry.  These things still happen today.

“So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.  And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee.  And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have I done to thee?”   1 Kings 19:19-20 KJV.

To be mentored, you are serving the mentor as unto Jesus Christ.  Training and mentoring requires surrender of your will to God’s.

God uses His mentor to care, teach, correct, discipline and train in every lesson that brings one to servanthood.  We graduate to becoming a servant.  The one who trains is accountable to obey God for that person.

How can we possibly think another will follow when you have never followed?

I purposely bring up correction to those who seek a mentor, and I do not compromise my stance as a mentor or spiritual mom.

In this nation I find it true with many I meet; that people are afraid to be corrected or disciplined.

God loves us and He only wants his best for us!  Many see God’s methods of training, correction and discipline by leadership or mentor as harsh.

True discipline is love and care that brings stability into the life of the protege.  It is a blessing and testing for holding true positions of leadership.

If the LORD never disciplined us, we wouldn’t be His disciples or His children.  Being afraid of true godly discipline, is not to be feared, but revered.

If you have an issue where you were abused by authority, healing can come under a true mentor.  If having discipline makes you afraid and you don’t believe it is necessary, then you and I need to read scripture and pray.

If God never taught, disciplined or showed us what’s involved in ministry, He would be negligent in His care for us.

Caring for a child is necessary so they are safe, fed, comforted, loved and also corrected.  Yes correction is love too.

Elijah gave Elisha every opportunity to turn back, just as I do.  When I feel that wrong motives are in action, I purposely do not let anyone latch on to me.

My job is to obey God no matter how people respond. As for hanging out, God won’t let me do that either, unless it is for His purpose.

Once people tell me they heard God tell them to come under my training, I purposely do not waste any time.  I begin to share with them what will happen.

I begin asking if they are willing to be corrected pretty quick.  Nearly all run away and cannot follow through with their words.

A person who is serious, has received a word from God and that is what settles the matter of them staying.  It is not for me, it is for HIM.  This revelation saves my time and theirs.

When God truly sends a protege, they come on their own and no one will be able to shake them loose, for they heard from God.

These are there until God says it is done!  They will be there through the corrections, the blessings, the training and the rewards of benefits.

When being trained under a blessed leader, that blessing will transfer to them as they continue until finished.  These shall carry within them the rewards and benefits for their future and for those they will train.

Elijah walked alone a lot.  He understood the cost of peoples lives and how serious it is.

By the way, it is not smart to try and walk with a prophet while having wrong motives.  This type of motive is made manifest and there will be no sort of manipulative or controlling benefit.  False motives are exposed by the light.

There are those, when they see the gifts in action, a powerful word, a miracle or testimony; they may not understand what they are witnessing, but it can inspire them to seek God.

Then there are those who become so hungry for God and want to experience Him.

Then there are others; these are those who come deceptively, who are attracted to that anointing that rest on you.

Motives are made manifest through those that come and seem sincere, until it comes to whom or what is the focus.  Like Simon the sorcerer, they are seeking to grasp that gift for personal gain.

“And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.  But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.  Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.  Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.  For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.  Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the LORD for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me,”   Acts 8:18-24 KJV.

Only God knows the true motives.  I see this quite often with people who had some sort of ministry experience years ago.

These don’t realize fully, but they are trying to relive past experiences and memories, hoping to bring them into the mix now.

They want to recapture those years when God was moving so big in their lives, but time has moved on.  We must move when the Glory cloud moves.

I counsel these to put to death the past ministry and seek Him NOW for what He wants.   Some so live and identify with the past glory days, that they stubbornly hold on to the past when God wants to take them into their future.

They seem to want to learn from the man or woman of God and seemingly may be humble for awhile, but the truth will manifest.

These see themselves and measure themselves against you.  They make a point to tell you of all the works they have done that gives them the right to be in your status and rank.

They begin to rise up thinking they are more mature and totally disregard the person you are and what authority you carry; In this they disrespect God.

They measure themselves against you and the words spoken.  They cannot understand internally why you are moving with God and they are not.

So they carry seeds of envy and jealousy that begins to motivate the conversation.  Once they gain access to you, they will want to keep access to you.

They will seek to ride on your anointing and in their mind, they begin to think it is their anointing.  You must understand that they will try and turn the conversation over to them and it becomes a very dangerous place they are in with manipulation and control.

Jezebel has left many littered along life’s highway this way.

These love the anointing you flow in and they try to bask themselves in it as much as possible.  In the light of the anointing they like to stick around until they can gain some sort of advantage from the prophets anointing.

If they can’t have it, no one can, so like King Saul went after David to destroy him, these people react the same way.  They will seek to divide and conquer.  They will try to assassinate your character.

These people go “oooh…. ahhh…., we just love that anointing,” and they act like they want to be with you in support.

Then suddenly the tables turn to them and they compare themselves to you, and self promote, meaning that they don’t need you, since they got what they came for.  Not realizing what they have is a Jezebel spirit.

If you allow these type of people to come and suck on the anointing they will deplete you and all for their own selfish purposes.  Then they cannot figure out why it doesn’t work with them.  Do not ignore these types of behaviors, they are dangerous to the soul!

Keep healthy boundaries and do not deviate from them.  These type of people will continue to cross over into your space and try to take over your time.

Prostituting the anointing is a serious thing!  It means they will manipulate, pay, use, misuse or steal to gain some sort of privilege, prestige of knowing your name and personally knowing who you are.

They try to daily keep your attention using all sorts of ministry purposes and to somehow make you feel obligated to help them.  Always keep God first and his time foremost.  Let no person invade that time with the LORD.

As they gain access to you and you begin to believe them, they drop names, titles and previous works they have done, to change the focus off of you and onto themselves.

The mission is to destroy the true prophets message.  It is the time for you to PULL back and refocus on the LORD!  Give no more access to them.

If they think you have figured out their scheme, they will send you manipulative messages that are sent to be poison for the mind.

The person will become fearful of losing your time and access and become desperate, not understanding why they feel that way.  To bait and switch tactics, they will rely on you to feel sorry for them!

There goal is to get you to doubt that you didn’t hear correctly from God.  All the while this is happening, that spirit is gaining more access time with the prophet AND if the prophet doesn’t pull back to refocus on God, that demonic spirit will bombard the true prophet to shake his or her faith and it breaks down defenses to gain access to the mind.

Once the mind is compromised it gains control.  Your mind is not yours anymore.  Truly our battlefield is in our mind.

In these last days and moments, satan is pulling out all the stops and is targeting leadership and especially prophets to bring about spiritual blindness.

Evil spirits are at work to a greater degree deluding as many people as possible.  These spirits are not just doing thing haphazardly but they have been planning to take out as many as possible.

If they cannot take them out they will hold onto as many as possible that are in bondage and spiritual darkness.

Beware and pray concerning these tactics.  If you are part of the flock, pray for your leaders.

Watch and pray.  I hold the ministry of the intercessor/ warrior to the highest regards and most important gift sent into my life.  Nothing is won or advanced without them.

It is my hope and prayer that this information will equip you to a greater degree and spark that fire again to do war.  We all have a job to do and we need to get it done!

Some Symptoms Of False Humility

When you ask a person or Christian “What is false humility?”  many come up with an example or two.

I asked a question the other day and the LORD moved me to study this deeper.

When you ask a person or Christian “What is false humility?”  many come up with an example or two.

A person who is humble is in it for the long haul, not short term self interests.  Humility is often associated or seen as low self esteem, but in reality, it is the arrogant who are distorted.

It is easy to fake interest in another individual’s existence, especially it there is something in it for us,  i.e. recognition, status or some sort of benefit.

Another example of false humility are the pretenders who try to be something they are not and in reality are self deceived.  They will pretend to be generous, but in reality, they are self centered.

Sometimes people don’t even realize their behaviors are that way; even well meaning and seasoned people do not understand this problem.

Proud and arrogant people are exaggerated in their own viewpoint.  They seek to have the consideration and credit for everything.

Yes, if we remain in real repentance, it will keep us accountable, keeping us honest and open, as; “living epistles seen and read of all men”  Being real and up front is a good thing, and it keeps us humble.

“Do we begin again to commend ourselves?  Or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?  Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart,”   2 Corinthians 3:1-3 KJV.

The devil likes to twist words, and we all have different backgrounds and with some it is harder than others.

We each live life and God uses everything we go through.  The enemy will try to get to us coming or going.

Satan wants to stomp us down where we feel useless and unwanted.  Then we start feeling good about ourselves and he throws in a wrench to shake our confidence in Christ.

However, he tries to push us further from confidence into pride.  Pride is his goal, why?

That was the same sin that God through him out of heaven for.

If the devil can get us to believe we have pride instead of confidence, it will shut us up, because we love Jesus and in our heart of hearts we know we don’t want to do nothing to offend our Jesus.

So we go through various stages of deliverance in our walk, and each one God leads us through is designed to free us more and more.

Yes, in sacrificing our Ishmaels, how many times have our own self interests kept us from victory over the years?  How many times have we got ahead of God?

Yes, when we have rough backgrounds in the particular area of being put down and disqualified, with self hate, and self criticisms.  If the enemy can’t get us coming he gets us going.

Developing confidence is a long, love lesson from Jesus.  We all want love.  As we understand and learn God’s kind of love, being accepted is what we crave and desire.

Our needs are only met by our Jesus and he fills those areas with himself.

If we begin to think that we are better than other people, we become less worthy and we lose what qualities we earn through trial and testing that makes us more valuable to the cause of Christ.

The more advanced we go in Christ we, the humble maintain their agenda to be His feet into His will and His glory!

Humility is also putting others first.  It resists the temptation to act or intend to view one’s own power, position, or reputation.

Fake humility seeks to gain approval and won’t give up; It pretends.

I read of a man that learned how to profit from his mistakes.  Throughout his career he was willing to learn from his mistakes.

He was a man of great ambitions, however he was a man of humility, and because of this, he was able to see with greater moral clarity.  Regardless of his decisions, he owned up to mistakes.

Real humility builds up; false humility tears down.

We are to look into the mirror of God’s word as a humble leader, we search out of the reflection from the mirror of God’s word.

The more accountability and responsibility a person has, the more humility is required.

If a person comes to me, and they say “God told them to do this thing for you.”  I say okay, if God told them to do it, they depend on God and they are doing it for God and not man, right?

The rewards must come from God right?  If your agenda and motive are wrong, your focus will be on man and it will always disappoint.  These types of actions won’t last if they are doing it for some sort of reward.

For example; If someone is doing something for me, the motive is made manifest by God.

If the motive is false humility, you are trying to gain advantage, access or attain a position for some sort of personal benefit, and not God.

Manipulation and control are very devious ways to gain access for advancement of their own purpose.  Manipulation and control have no place in a true selfless act.

People who carry and seek an agenda, try to manipulate the one served.  These are actually there to serve their own benefit, attention, recognition, purpose and AGENDA.

I tell people, if God told you to do it, don’t expect me to ask.  If God told you to do it, that is between you and him regardless of my position in the situation!  Don’t expect me to run you down and ask anything, because you are doing it for HIM, not me.

I am only a servant as we all are, and we work for him regardless of the job he gives us to do.

We are accountable to HIM!  May we all check our hearts and motives and respond accordingly.  No more false humility, Amen?

“That I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters.  “For his letters,” say they, “are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.”
Let such an one think this, that, such as we are in word by letters when we are absent, such will we be also in deed when we are present.
For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you. For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ: Not boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men’s labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly,”
   3 Corinthians 10:9-15 KJV.

A Closer Look, ‘His Grace Is Sufficient’

Only God can remake and redeem a shattered heart. It is just like a precious crystal vase when dropped, breaks into many pieces.

Only God can remake and redeem a shattered heart.

It is just like a precious crystal vase when dropped, breaks into many pieces.  There are so many deeper depths, of this truth.

Being shattered comes with so many slivers that you cannot see.  We may be in this place today, but it seems hopeless.  It has been such a long time, and other attempts, futile.

However, once we resign to God’s will and look deeper, one can only fathom the dynamics of such a undertaking.

For unless we have walked through such times ourselves, how do we have substance in our walk of faith?  God wants to bring substance to our faith; our testimony.

Life comes with many lessons, and by growth, we are exercised to believe God’s word.

When we hear of others who were openly broken or shattered then miraculously healed; We ask ourselves and God, “What about me?  What is wrong with me?”

His grace is sufficient.

There are those that seem impossible to be healed.

His grace is sufficient.

We know and realize that no man can fix us, instead, we must trust God.

It may be years of built up residue, but those slivers are still sharp as ever.  His grace is sufficient.

After going through so many prayer lines and prayer requests, inside we resign these things over to God.

We move on and throw the easily seen pieces away.  Then with what strength we have, we sweep out the unseen, whisking away all that we see outwardly.

His Grace is sufficient.

A shattered heart may seem like an impossible wound, but in God, all things are possible. His grace is sufficient.

Beloved, you are not rejected, you are accepted.  Continue walking on beloved, because it is through life experiences, that God qualifies us to be His choice counselor’s that He can use.

We walk on, trusting His purpose in each step.  Knowing he is our redeemer and has the power and purpose to do all things.

We give Him praise, In Jesus’ name!

“And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.  For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.  And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.  Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong,”   2 Corinthians 12:7-10 KJV.

The Timing Of The Corporate Center

My thoughts beloved; I am NOT my own. I have been bought with an expensive, costly price. Jesus is Lord of my life always!  I was taught that my righteousness is like filthy rags.

My thoughts beloved; I am NOT my own.  I have been bought with an expensive, costly price.

Jesus is Lord of my life always!  I was taught that my righteousness is like filthy rags.

When I received the Lord, I said NO to demonic chatter!

There are those religious spirits who feel they must control us and act as our sheriff or umpire, calling us out!  I had to learn and realize that I am part of a bigger picture.  It is not me, myself and I.  NO!  It is Christ in me, the hope of glory!.

When we think we are ALL we need, we are tipping closer toward calamity.  We cannot live the life of the flesh and religion and be free; It is impossible, beloved!

The chasm has widened and there are no more gray areas!  The time is come for all people to return to their first love.

Hear this beloved!  The chasm has widened and no longer able to live with one foot in and the other foot out.

We must know the times we are in.  Know your enemy!

All religion, in all forms, is a return to bondage.  You started off good, then what happened to take that joy away?

An evangelist promised that if you came forward, you would be saved and cleansed of all sin.  What happened?  Why isn’t it joyful like it was when we received Christ?  What happened?

Well sounding and well meaning demonic inspired people found you and they began working on your mind to get you to doubt and not believe the truth.

Oh so sorry to have to say that!  However it is necessary to know your enemy!

That is the most important thing to know in warfare; know your enemy!  These types of spirits work through well meaning people.

The enemy is often far more serious about attendance at Church, rather than true believers are!

Picture this, a huge 10,000 seat Church filled with people and God opens your eyes and you see a small group of true believers in the center of that place.  It is shocking when he opens your eyes!

Many so called Christians are nothing but religious spirits!  They are staunch, miserable people!  Just listen to what they say.

They don’t teach you the freedom we have in Christ!  These spirits know who you are, even though the people don’t.

Beloved of God, we must be equipped with the gift of discerning of spirits.  We must come into the corporate anointing; the gathering of those of one heart, one mind and one accord.  Don’t you hear the sound to be ready?

Being part of a corporate body provides safety and many wonderful benefits beloved!  God has a place for you to plug into; even if it is on-line.

Social media gatherings and the Five Fold Ministry are just as inspired by God as big name Church groups!  Know who you are and don’t be shaken.

There are groups of people who are demonically inspired religious people!  Most times these don’t know why they act ugly to you.

Then there are true demoniacs who know what they are doing.  I guarantee beloved, that what is in them doesn’t want you to get free and appear on the scene with the anointing of Truth!  You can learn a lot by listening in silence.

“And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you,”   1 Thessalonians 4:11 KJV.

Self righteousness and pride seek to divide.  When we seek to preserve our flesh instead of dying to the flesh, it leads us further down the slope of religious deception and heeding the voices of devils.

When we come to Christ, we enter His Kingdom.  We are one in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

We are no longer alone, but we have become part of the body of Christ.

We are part of an amazing plan that God knows about, and we are no longer just an individual, but part of the amazing bigger picture of union with His Body.

The LORD desires us to be one with HIM!  His corporate body are mutually dependent and accountable, one to the other.

Each gift is so needed to function in harmony.  How can I say I don’t need a prophet or apostle?  Would you actually say to your eyes that you don’t need them?

Religious people/ spirits strive and divide!  They seemingly flourish so to speak, because of popular doctrines which they push like drug dealers.

These people don’t want to hear the truth.  These people feed among half truths and promote chaos and drama wherever they go.

Their goal is to shake you and seek to devour you!  Give no more place to the devil.  Remain among those who are one heart, one mind and one accord.

Those who rebel and seek to destroy a precious soul, fight against God.  These impostors go about making their own little Prophet’s Corner, or Apostle’s Cafe and say “Come on and have a heyday!”

They are those who say or live with the attitude that says; I am my own prophet, my own savior, and my own deliverer!

They are clearly self deluded and anchored in pride.  A twisting spirit is in their mouths, just like a Leviathan, swinging its tail, seeking to twist your words and beliefs.  It is his last ditch effort to roll you over and over, so you are confused.

Give no more place or room for the lies and attempts at twisting words.  Don’t listen to them, or give any place to the devil.

Don’t let him steal your peace or rob you of harmony in the body of Christ.  The Word of God is near thee, even in your heart and mouth, in the words you speak.

As I close this portion of teaching, I would advise to find your place and plug into it.

I would also say that we are not a island to ourselves.  We fit somewhere!

I am not my own and I don’t belong to me.  I die, so HE lives big in me and I receive His righteousness.

The middle man was cut out for us over two thousand years ago.  His name is Jesus!

He took our place and gave gifts to man.  The remnant is learning we all are part of a bigger picture!

We are transitioning and coming into alignment into the corporate body.  Don’t be late!

“And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent,”   Acts 17:30 KJV.

“And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not,”   Revelation 2:21 KJV.

“As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent,”   Revelation 3:19 KJV.
