Familiarity Breeds Contempt

The LORD lived and knew people and learned to be a carpenter before His earthly ministry ever started.

The LORD lived and knew people and learned to be a carpenter before His earthly ministry ever started.

When He was thirty years old His Ministry began. He was familiar with the feelings we have and all of our infirmities.

Many people never speak about The Son of Man. Jesus experienced every temptation yet without sin.

Jesus knew what it meant to be human as we. Jesus identifies what it is like for us to be part of a personal and familiar family.

The majority did not receive him and His Calling and Purpose — even within his own brothers and sisters.

And something I failed to see in my study was…. where was Joseph? I always wondered about that.

When you are rejected and ignored this Christmas from family and friends, you must realize not all will accept you and they will speak against you.

The best thing you can do is to cast all your cares and family members and lay them on The Altar and give them to God. The best thing we can do is pray for them…. then release them.

Often times when people are too familiar with us, they remember all our mistakes and are sure to judge, because they think they know us.

Remember that Jesus (the Son of Man) too, was not well liked in his family and home town. You’re in good company beloved, and it was true with Jesus, as He couldn’t do many things there in his home town, because of those who knew him and rejected him in unbelief.

Jesus tried to reach his hometown, but the people were too familiar with Him, and He provoked a response that set their teeth on edge and they wanted to kill Him!

He tried to reach them, but the people wanted Him to do the same things He did elsewhere, and He said, “No prophet is ever welcomed in his hometown” and it made the people furious and drove him out to throw him off a cliff. (Luke 4:14-30)

That is contempt to the maximum. God wants us as well to realize we will also experience this in our hometowns and those who are too familiar.

Their plan to throw him down, Jesus simply walked away and escaped.

What made them so angry? Why did Jesus make a lot of people mad?

The people knew He was an apprentice of his father as carpenter, and they saw Him grow up and live, helping His father. So, He was very well known around town and He was ordinary, and His Greatness was kept hidden.

The people thought, “How dare He talk down to us!” When others are familiar with you, people begin to predict your behavior on past acts good or bad, and judge you and marginalize you.

Familiarity, causes a lack of respect and they dismiss and ignore you by their own opinions.

During this Christmas season, realize that you are in good company! If they did it to Jesus they will do it to you.

As you move on after this season, go to where you are accepted, go to wherever you are received and let the dust settle and release your peace everywhere you go and take dominion in the spirit realm, and silence the accuser and bless those you love and those who don’t love you, and forgive and do good and your Father in Heaven will see and honor you for your calm composure in The Name of Jesus!

“And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these parables, He withdrew from there. And having come into His own region, He was teaching them in their synagogue, so that they are astonished and are saying, “From where came to this One this wisdom and these miraculous powers? Is this not the son of the carpenter? Is not His mother called Mary, and His brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And are not all His sisters with us? Then from where came to this One all these things?”
And they were offended at Him.
But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in the hometown and in his own household.” And He did not do many mighty works there, because of their unbelief.”
Matthew 13:53-58 KJV
